Promoting the home and family, membership with Vanderburgh County Extension Homemakers is open to all, offering lessons on leadership training and leisure arts, in addition to our annual craft show in September, offering only the finest hand made arts and crafts. So if you are looking to meet new friends, experience personal growth and make a difference, Vanderburgh County Extension Homemakers are looking for you.

Elizabeth Burns: From Tragedy to Triumph-A Quilter is Born

March 8, 2014   Registration at 09:30   Program begins at 10:00  Lunch served at 12:00

Location: Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center, 1901 Lynch Road, Evansville, IN 47711

Cost $10.00 which includes program and lunch

Program:   A native of East Tennessee, in the early 1980’s, Elizabeth Burns moved to Southern Indiana where  she began working as a dispatcher for the Indiana State Police. Following years of dispatching help to others, Burns found herself on the receiving end when she was involved in a near fatal accident that resulted in the total loss of her sight.  She began piecing quilts in 2000, twelve years after she became totally blind. She has won many first place ribbons for her work. You won’t want to miss this inspiring  program!
